Customers expect correct, certified parts delivered in sequence. Those expectations should guide internal priorities.

  • Clarify quality requirements before fabrication.
  • Connect shop deliveries to the erection schedule.
  • Separate real urgency from unvalidated changes.

Map the value stream

A map from engineering through shipping exposes activities that neither transform the part nor reduce risk.

  • Include waits between departments.
  • Measure work in process by stage.
  • Identify handoffs that create errors.

Create daily improvement

Sustainable gains come from visible standards and teams that can solve problems close to the process.

  • Organize work areas with 5S.
  • Test small changes against a clear measure.
  • Update the standard when the change works.
